Keystone Progress Education Fund (KPEF) is dedicated to creating a Pennsylvania that works for everybody. The Keystone Progress Education Fund (KPEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through our disability justice program, we are working to increase voter participation in the disability community in Southwestern Pennsylvania. We are seeking passionate and hardworking candidates to join the disability justice canvassing team to conduct voter registration and vote-by-mail drives in long-term care facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to the Disability Justice Program Director
Engage with potential voters through room-to-room canvassing in long-term care facilities
Educate potential voters, family members, and staff of long-term care facilities about the rights of disabled voters as well as the voter registration and vote-by-mail processes
Collect voter registrations and vote-by-mail applications using a tablet and paper applications
Review voter registration and vote-by-mail applications for accuracy
Maintain accurate records of canvassing work in long-term care facilities
Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED
Driven by a strong work ethic and self-motivated
1-3 years of experience working with the general public
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
A commitment and passion for progressive politics and ideas in PA
A commitment to diversity and inclusion ideals and practices
Ability to ambulate for 4+ hour shifts
Access to reliable transportation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
Previous canvassing experience
Previous experience working with disabled people and older adults
COMPENSATION:
Keystone Progress offers $25 per hour for 20 hours per week for 6 months. This is an independent contractor position (1099).
